CHICOPEE – Viola K. Mish, 95, passed away on Tuesday October 6 th at Mt. Saint Vincent. Viola was born in Holyoke, daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Kulpa) Mish. She lived most of her life in Chicopee and had a deep love for those lucky enough to be called her family and friends. Viola graduated from South Hadley High School in 1942 and went on to earn degrees from Northampton Commercial College and American International College. She worked as an executive office manager at various locations including Haarmann Steel Co and Mount Holyoke College. Viola also served as a board member for the Board of Appeals in Chicopee, was a member of The Open Window Book Shop, and volunteered her time at many different assisted living centers in the area including Providence Place and The Genesis Center. She was member of the Ladies Guild at St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley, and was closely associated with the Sisters of Providence, where she was an Associate Emerita. Viola was predeceased by her parents, her brothers; Edward, Joe and Steve, and her nieces Veronica (Ronnie) Mish and Paulina Zuffoletti. She leaves behind her nephews; Joseph Mish Jr. of California and Al Zuffoletti of South Hadley, niece Carolyn Buehler and husband Donald of Woburn, two grandnieces, and a grandnephew. A Funeral service will be held for Viola at Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home of South Hadley at 10 am on Monday. A Calling hour will precede the funeral from 9:30 – 10 am. Committal service will follow the funeral service at Holy Mother of the Rosary Cemetery in Chicopee.
