SOUTH HADLEY – Wilfred J. "Wil" Beaudry, 80, passed away Saturday morning surrounded by his loving family. Wil was born in Holyoke, Jan. 23, 1939, son of the late Wilfred and Nellrose (Perkins) Beaudry. He grew up in Holyoke before moving to South Hadley 36 years ago. A graduate of Holyoke High School, he lettered in Soccer, Basketball, and Baseball and was captain of the Basketball team his junior and senior year. He then graduated from St. Anslem's College, where he was captain of the Basketball team. A retired 38-year teacher for the Chicopee School System, he also was one of the original owners of the former "Broadview Restaurant" on Jarvis Avenue in Holyoke and a partner in the former "Woodbridges" in South Hadley. Wil was a member of several local fraternal organizations and a lifetime member of the Holyoke Elks Club. He loved his home in Harwich, MA and spent 34 years fishing and going to the beach. He also spent his winters in Pompano Beach, FL with his many dear friends. He leaves his wife Carol (Veronneau) Beaudry, his two brothers Robert of Southampton, Perkins and his wife Nancy of South Yarmouth; a niece Heather and nephew Joshua. He will be sadly missed by all his wonderful cousins and friends that he loved dearly. The funeral will be held at the Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home Saturday at 11:00am with Liturgy in St. Patrick's Church at Noon. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00 – 7:00pm.
