Jubinville

William Frank Jubinville, 96, of South Hadley, died on April 9 th 2018. He was born on March 1st 1922 in Holyoke and he was the son of William E. Jubinville and Jennie H. Goss. His wife, June Cary Jubinville predeceased him in 2014. He was her devoted caregiver. They married in 1948 and built two homes in Granby where they lived for 45 years. He leaves two sons: Cary R. Jubinville and his wife, Susan of Granby and their sons William, Jeffrey and Robert; and David W. Jubinville of South Hadley and his daughters Kate and Laura. He also leaves his sister, Lesley J. Crouse of Amherst and three nephews. Bill graduated from South Hadley High School in 1939. He served in the United States Navy in the Pacific theater in World War ll. He returned honorably discharged from the war, worked at Worthington Pump in Holyoke and went to night school to obtain his degree from American International College in 1949. He began his insurance career in Springfield shortly thereafter, working for Mutual Benefit Life. In 1954, he began working for the Allen S. White Insurance Agency in South Hadley. He graduated with honors from the Aetna Life & Casualty Sales School in that same year. In 1976, he purchased the Allen S. White Agency, now known as the Jubinville Insurance Group. His guiding hand and light touch as chairman reached everyone who worked with him. Bill grew up as a passionate fly fisherman spending youthful summers mostly on his aunt's farm in Goshen, MA. Golf replaced fishing in the late 1950's. He and June traveled extensively, playing golf in many different venues: Bermuda, Western Canada, California, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, and in Venice, Florida where they enjoyed a winter home for 30 years. He was a member of The Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley and the Plantation Golf & Country Club of Venice, Florida. He was a member of the New England Seniors and Bay State Seniors Golf Associations. Bill was a Master Mason and a 75-year member of the Mount Holyoke Lodge AF & AM in South Hadley. He also led the South Hadley Lions Club as its president and was an original charter founding 50-year member. His strong tenor voice made him a staple in the choir of Granby's Church of Christ Congregational for over thirty years. He continued his singing in the Loomis Village choral group and especially at every Jubinville Insurance office celebratory function. Curran-O'Brien Funeral Home in South Hadley is in charge of the arrangements. There will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
